What We Believe.
We believe that representation matters. Living in a diverse community where only one Black woman serves in elected office is unacceptable. Our goal is to harness and expand Black women's political power locally.
We believe the impact of women leaders reflects a role-model effect, and that female leadership influences adolescent girls’ career aspirations and educational attainment.
We believe that we can help increase the civic awareness and participation of women and girls of color so that they have real influence over decisions affecting their lives.
We believe that when equipped with knowledge and confidence, women and girls of color can become the fierce advocates and leaders needed to positively transform their communities and their lives.
What We Do.
We develop, implement, and direct training programs, workshops, and community initiatives to educate, empower, and engage women and girls to increase their ability to advocate for themselves, for peers, and within their communities.
Founded in 2012, the vision for our work emerged following the founder’s campaign for elected office. Recognizing the tremendous void of women in elected leadership positions within her community, particularly women of color, our Founder began the work of empowering women and young girls of color to have a legitimate voice in the decision making process.
In 2014, we launched My Sister's Keeper - a leadership development and mentor program, with a civic engagement and service based curriculum for middle and high school girls. The program also includes a travel component.
We believe all women can embrace who they are,
can define their future, and can change the world.
New Vision MSK, Inc. is a service organization committed to raise awareness of civic responsibility, increase community engagement, cultivate leadership, and foster entrepreneurship among women and girls of color.
"We envision communities and states where every woman and girl has the opportunity to succeed, prosper, govern, and lead in every capacity and in every segment of society." Fenika Miller-Founder
